Silver Barracuda

Tank Setup:

• Provide a spacious tank of at least 75 gallons for adult Silver Barracudas.
• Use a fine gravel or sand substrate and include open swimming spaces.

Water Parameters:

• Maintain a temperature between 75-82°F (24-28°C).
• Keep the pH level around 6.0 to 7.5.
• Ensure water hardness between 5-15 dGH.

Filtration:

• Use a powerful filtration system with a strong flow to replicate their natural habitat in fast-flowing waters.

Tank Decor:

• Include rocks, driftwood, and artificial structures to create hiding spots and break up lines of sight.
• Live plants can be added, but choose hardy species as Silver Barracudas may uproot them.

Diet:

• Provide a varied diet of high-quality pellets, frozen or live fish, shrimp, and other protein-rich foods.
• Feed smaller, frequent meals rather than large portions.

Social Behavior:

• Silver Barracudas can be aggressive, especially during feeding.
• Keep them singly or in larger tanks with compatible, similarly-sized mates.

Compatibility:

• Avoid keeping them with smaller fish that may be viewed as prey.
• Choose tank mates carefully to prevent aggression.
