Tank Setup:

• Provide a spacious tank of at least 75 gallons for a small group of Ruby Scats.
• Use a sandy substrate with some rocky structures for hiding spots.

Water Parameters:

• Maintain a temperature between 75-82°F (24-28°C).
• Keep the pH level around 7.0 to 8.5.
• Ensure water hardness between 10-20 dGH.

Filtration:

• Use a robust filtration system with a moderate to strong flow, as Ruby Scats appreciate well-oxygenated water.

Tank Decor:

• Include driftwood, rocks, and live or artificial plants for enrichment.
• Create hiding spots and territories for each fish.

Diet:

• Offer a varied diet consisting of high-quality pellets, flakes, and live or frozen foods.
• Ruby Scats are omnivores, so include both plant and animal-based foods.

Social Behavior:

• Keep them in small groups, as they are social fish.
• Monitor for any signs of aggression, especially during feeding.

Compatibility:

• Ruby Scats can coexist with other peaceful, similarly-sized tank mates.
